Amodin is an anti-malarial drug. It is used for suppression and treatment of malaria. It has a rapid schizontical affect and appears to affect cell growthg by interfering with DNA, its activity also seems to depend on preferential accumulation inthe infected erthrocyte. Amodin kills the erthrocyctic forms of malarial parasites at all stages of development but doesnot affect the malarial parasites in the human liver cells.
